Directions for authors

Contributions with historical or critical content dealing either with Kant’s philosophy directly or with questions raised in Kant’s philosophy are published in the Abhandlungen or Berichte und Diskussionen. All contributions must be original work. Translations of articles published elsewhere will not be accepted. Ideally, contributions should be written in German, Kant’s own language; though to ensure an international outlook, manuscripts in English or French are also welcome, except by authors whose mother tongue is German. For German-speaking authors who are working abroad, exceptions can be made.

When citing Kant’s Complete Works, the usage within the Akademie Edition is mandatory. Even manuscripts not written German must cite Kant in the language of the original. The citation must be presented in the following form:

Siglum, AA (Vol.-Number.): page[s]. Line[s].
Example: MpVt, AA 08: 264.07–13.
